Conclusions

White dwarfs and neutron stars provide an outstanding display of the merging of quantum and classical physics on a macroscopic scale. The phenomena encountered ranges from degenerate matter, superfluids and superconductivity, to exotic quark matter, perhaps found nowhere else in this universe. As such, they are wonderful examples of the unity of physics.
